Job hunting? Have a hire-me online profile

by Gabrielle on March 12, 2010

In a recent CareerBuilder.com survey, nearly a third of employers say they research job candidates on Facebook.com, LinkedIn.com and other social networking sites. And that’s good news, since 24% of them found information that made them more likely to hire the candidate. Here’s what they’re looking for in your profile:
* 48% want more information about how your background qualifies you for the position
* 43% want to see that you have great communication skills
* 40% want to find out if you’ll fit in with the company
* 36% want to make sure that your page conveys a professional image
* 31% want to read positive references posted about you by others
* 30% want to know if you have a wide range of interests
* 29% want to learn about awards and accolades you’ve received
* 24% want to find out how much creativity you put into your profile
