Need to ask someone to help out, for instance, a co-worker to pitch in on a project or your friend to help you paint your living room? Believe it or not, you’re more likely to get people to agree to your request when there are eco-friendly items—like soy candles, organic food, all-natural household cleansers and a reusable shopping bag—in plain sight, according to a new study in the journal Psychological Science. Green products remind us of social responsibility, which subconsciously makes people become more cooperative, generous and conscientious, the researchers explain.
